In Course 3 you will be studying aspects of children’s learning development and brain development:
You will be:
- creating and evaluating learning resources designed to support children’s learning of Māori language skills and you will make a presentation of the implementation of your resources.
- planning and implementing a cultural event showcasing the language, culture and identity from different local communities.
- researching different theories of brain development in infants, toddlers and young children and analyse how knowledge of these theories can help kaiako develop appropriate teaching and learning activities.
- looking at the effect of undue stress on children and how to recognise the signs.
- continuing to investigate how te Whāriki underpins early childhood education and care in Aotearoa New Zealand and creating resources which relate to its principles and strands.
- creating a planning cycle using theories of children’s development and reflect on its effectiveness using a method of reflection you studied in Course 1.
