In early childhood education and care, educators play a vital role in shaping the developmental experiences of young children. A strong foundation in supporting children's growth, safety, and well-being is essential for fostering positive learning outcomes. The following units—CHCECE047, CHCECE048, and CHCECE043—are designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality care, promote a connection to the natural environment, and ensure a safe and healthy workplace. Together, these units cover critical aspects of early childhood practice, empowering educators to create environments where children can thrive and develop to their full potential.

This unit emphasises the importance of supporting young children in engaging with and appreciating the natural environment. Educators play a crucial role in fostering a sense of connection to nature by providing opportunities for outdoor play and learning, which can enhance children’s development across various domains, including cognitive, social, and emotional skills. Learners will explore strategies for promoting environmental awareness and connecting children to the natural world in meaningful and sustainable ways.
