SUBJECT OVERVIEW
Students will bring together and apply all the knowledge they have gained over the past several weeks about New Zealand tourism destinations and products, and they will design and produce a group tour itinerary. Students will also learn about the components of a group tour, how to put together an itinerary and construct a tour pricing. Students will present their tour itinerary on an A3-sized page, in colour and landscape orientation. This will be collated together to create a full New Zealand touring brochure.
ASSESSMENT
The assessment consists of TAFA/THA/THRInbound Tourism
Task One
- Apply in-depth knowledge of New Zealand as a tourism destination (GP3/Cr3).
- Create a group tour itinerary (using business systems and processes), resulting in an itinerary which will deliver a quality visitor experience. (GP4/Cr3).
Task Two
- Group pricing. Demonstrate numeracy skills by providing a group quote of the itinerary. (GP1/Cr1).
- By the end of this week, students will design and produce a 5-day touring itinerary based within a specific region of New Zealand.
