Welcome to CUAACD531 - Refine drawing and other visual representation tools.

As you continue to discover new ways of visually communicating meanings and messages, this module will develop and refine your drawing skills in creative work to reinforce this process. It involves evaluating the role of drawing in communicating ideas, experimenting with drawing and visual representations, and developing an individual approach to the use of drawing.

As you begin to develop these skills, you will be able to recognise your own unique drawing abilities in response to the assessments designed to help you improve your design practice.

There are three (3) areas of study associated with this module. These are:

  • Evaluate the role of drawing in professional practice – which allows you to investigate drawing, idea generation methods and problem-solving skills. You will also study how others use tools and equipment and assess ways in which drawing can be used to support your own practice.
  • Develop practice through experimentation with drawing– which allows you to use different materials and techniques to generate and develop ideas and create variety in compositions. You will also experiment with techniques and mixed media to create drawings.
  • Assess the individual approach to drawing – which allows you to evaluate the success of completed drawings in communicating ideas and how drawing and visual representation has been used for professional practice.

Good luck with your studies!
