  • This video shares messy play ideas for 12-18 months old children.
  • On YouTube, on Netflix’s official channel, you can watch several episodes of the movie ‘Babies’ that simultaneously follows four babies around the world, for example:
  • Read about the developmental milestones for your child’s age group on ACECQA’s Starting Blocks website or in this booklet published by ACECQA. (The booklet can also be accessed here.)
  • Here you can access the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • ACECQA subscriptions are free and will provide you with up-to-date information via their newsletters, and access to extensive sector information and changes.
  • The NQF eLearning modules has been developed by ACECQA for new educators who have entered the children's education and care sector.   • The ECA: Code of Ethics is an aspirational framework for reflection about the ethical responsibilities of childhood professionals who work with, or on behalf, of children and their families.
  • The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child an international agreement on childhood, consisting of 54 articles. Articles 43-54 are about how adults and governments should work together to make sure that all children get all their rights.
  • You can read about the benefits of risky play on Care For Kids website. The article will also give some ideas of how risky play can incorporated in a service’s routine.

  • The ECA Statement of Play highlights the crucial role and expertise of early childhood educators and teachers in supporting young children’s play and promoting awareness of its impacts for the whole child.
  • Early Childhood Australia's Statement on young children and digital technologies was developed in response to an identified need for guidance for early childhood professionals on the role and optimal use of digital technologies with, by and for young children in early childhood education and care settings.
