Introduction to the module

Welcome to module 3. In this module, we will investigate dementia in relation to the different types, stages, related conditions and risks and identify safe practices and support for people living with and supporting those living with dementia. 

Learning outcomes of this module include: 

• Management of risks associated with the care of patients living with dementia in a health and wellbeing setting.  
• Describe dementia in relation to types, stages, other related conditions, and the impact it has on daily living for a person living with dementia. 
• Provide support for people living with dementia in accordance with their personal plan and workplace requirements.  
• Collaborate with multidiscipline teams and whanau to support a person living with dementia.
