Congratulations, you have completed Modules 1 – 11 and the first 20 hours of work placement as part of  SWLA 1!

Now, it's time for you to begin your last work placement of 280 hours.

Important

Activities within SWLA 2 will need to be completed with a variety of age groups.

All interactions with the children must be supervised by a qualified educator.

Some of the activities will need to be observed by your SOE assessor during one or multiple scheduled visits.

Your Workplace Supervisor is required to sign off on the hours completed in SWLA 2. Additionally, quite a few of the workplace activities require the supervisor’s confirmation by completing and signing the required forms.

Once you complete the required workplace hours and workplace assessments for SWLA 2 and upload all required documentation, you just need to sit back and relax until all your work is marked. You officially complete the course when all your assessments are marked ‘Competent’.

This module is dedicated to Structured Workplace Learning and Assessment (SWLA) – SWLA 2 where you can upload all assessment documents required for SWLA 2.

During SWLA 2, you will be required to complete a series of tasks to demonstrate competency in the following units of competency:

  • CHCECE046 Implement strategies for the inclusion of all children
  • CHCECE045 Foster positive and respectful interactions and behaviour in children
  • CHCECE042 Foster holistic early childhood learning, development and well being
  • CHCECE047 Analyse information to inform children's learning
  • CHCECE048 Plan and implement children's education and care curriculum
  • CHCECE043 Nurture creativity in children
  • BSBHRM413 Support the learning and development of teams and individuals
  • CHCDIV003 Manage and promote diversity
  • BSBTWK502 Manage team effectiveness

Before commencing SWLA 2, you will need to familiarise yourself with the requirements of Work Placement for SWLA 2 by downloading and reading through all SWLA 2 assessments and documents (e.g., Portfolio 2, Journal, Third Party Report 2, Observation). You will also need to download and read through the Work Placement Plan 2, then discuss any concerns or questions you may have with your trainer/assessor.

Before commencing SWLA 2, make sure you have completed and submitted all theory assessments for the preceding modules. This is important so you can implement theory in practice during placement.
