Your modules for study have been carefully selected to provide you with a solid foundation from which to move forward as you launch or advance your career.

This introduction provides an outline of the course and what you can expect.

You will learn the skills and knowledge required to develop and implement strategies to source candidates and assess their suitability for available positions.

You will learn to plan for recruitment, screen and interview potential candidates, assess and select candidates, manage candidate outcomes, and successfully onboard candidates. You will learn to recruit the best fit for the available position and provide an effective onboarding process.

This module will teach you the skills and knowledge required to determine individual and group development needs.

You will practice skills to learn how to facilitate the workgroup's development. This module will assist the individual with a broad knowledge of learning and development who apply their skills in addressing development needs to meet individual and team objectives.

They may be responsible for providing guidance or delegating aspects of tasks to others.

In this module, you will see what it takes to establish, develop, and maintain effective work relationships and networks.

You will start by looking at the business development goals of the organisation, reviewing the opportunities available for building business contacts and building on those contacts using written and verbal communication. Once you establish a relationship, you will develop rapport, identify barriers, and negotiate through difficulties to maintain and improve those relationships.

This module covers how best to prepare for communication, what planning is needed, and how to address feedback. It describes the different types of communication you are likely to need in an Australian workplace. It allows you to select presentation methods and communication strategies based on the audience's requirements.

This module also discusses the use of interpersonal skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills to build relationships and facilitate respectful communication considering the needs of those from diverse backgrounds.

You will be looking at the role of critical thinking in the workplace in this module.

You will be analysing work processes and determining solutions using critical thinking concepts. You will review decision-making practices, present your proposal, seek feedback and identify areas for self-development.

This module will teach you the skills and knowledge required to communicate and implement employee relations (ER) and industrial relations (IR) policies and procedures to represent organisations and employers effectively.

You will learn how to provide an in-depth understanding of how to support the preparation of employee and industrial relations processes, the ways to help industrial relations, steps to support employee relations, and techniques to contribute to continuous improvement.

You will learn the skills and knowledge required to prepare, facilitate and lead difficult conversations in this module. A difficult conversation requires you to manage emotions and information sensitively in the workplace. As a manager or a supervisor, you will likely need to have a difficult conversation from time to time - this is normal.

This module helps individuals who need to lead difficult conversations in the workplace and contribute well-developed verbal and relationship-building skills to discussions.

This module will teach you the skills and knowledge required to implement a performance development system and facilitate employee performance effectively. One of the more challenging tasks for any manager is the performance management of employees.

Engaging staff around their poor performance is challenging. It takes courage, commitment, time, and skill to manage poor performance effectively.

This module will enhance the knowledge and skillset of how a supervisor must be able to transform every employee into a high performer.

This module covers the skills and knowledge required to coordinate redeployment, resignation, retirement, dismissal and redundancy, including exit interviews.

The termination of an employee is an unfortunate but necessary part of working in human resources or being the manager of a business or an organisation. Managing employee separation and termination for human resources managers or personnel who take responsibility for overseeing all aspects of managing the termination of employment.

In this module, you will learn how to plan complex documents, considering your audience, the paper's purpose, and your organisation's policies and procedures. You will cover formatting, content overview and the logical sequencing of information.

You will develop a draft document that satisfies the defined purpose and requirements and then identify gaps in the required data, collecting additional material from relevant sources. Lastly, you will see what it takes to finalise a complex document.

You will check whether the document serves its purpose. The final steps are to confirm approval of the draft text and ensure you meet all requirements.

This module introduces you to work health and safety's practical and legislative requirements.

It begins with providing information to the work team about WHS policies, procedures, hazards and outcomes of risk assessments. It discusses consultation mechanisms to facilitate work team participation in managing work area hazards and identifying and meeting the training needs of team members.

The module also covers the procedures and legal requirements for identifying hazards, assessing and controlling risks, and finally addresses organisational procedures for maintaining WHS records.
