SUBJECT OVERVIEW

This course is all about having fun! Students will be able to see for themselves how public relations and technology are being used to increase customer sales. The customer journey is being transformed to offer a more immersive experience. Virtual reality is providing more of an actual reality. The line between using traditional and digital media channels is now blurred. Using various scholarly articles and journals, students will learn how the communication and marketing landscape is having to adapt in the digital age.

During this module, students will have three Skill Sessions that focus on storytelling, being able to write a press release, and getting their hands on a virtual reality (VR) headset and 360°digital camera to learn how multimedia can drive more business.

Some of the exercises will require students to think outside the box. They say, ‘Knowledge is king’, but so too is creativity. Having the confidence to write a press release, and then, be able to revise it, will be some of the key learnings students will take away with them. From pitching new business to writing a PR brief, students will master the art of making news rather than reading it.

The assignment consists of HM Communication and Marketing
