Healthcare Assistants are not only required to provide care in response to the needs of clients, but also to their preferences and goals. This is what we call person-centred care.

Person-Centred Care 1 will take you through the basic care tasks you need in your role as a Healthcare Assistant, whilst considering principles of person-centred care and how these apply within your practice.

The basic care tasks that will be discussed in this course are showering, bed bathing, grooming activities, oral hygiene, assisting clients to eat, and toileting. There will be an opportunity in each section for you to consider how person-centred care principles apply to these tasks individually.
