In this lesson, we'll look at Google Ads in more depth and introduce the Facebook Creator Studio. This will include tools for scheduling and testing your ads – essential for getting the most from your advertising budget.
Your practical activity for this lesson will include creating some ad mockups of your own, for implementation in your own digital marketing plan.

Here are a couple of alternatives to the Facebook Creator Studio, that actually let you schedule posts for other social networks too – including Pinterest, LinkedIn and Twitter.

They are Hootsuite and Later.

They both have similar features, allowing you to schedule posts, monitor all your social channels, track links etc. Hootsuite is perhaps a little more powerful, but Later offers both free and low cost plans, letting you add more features (for more money) as you need them. Here is an intro/overview video for each…

  1. Create mockups of 2 advertisements. Use the platforms, keywords and media you identified in your research.
  2. Make sure your ads:
    • Use language and imagery that are appropriate for the target audience, brand and campaign
    • Are accurate representations of how they will display on the chosen platforms

Post your draft ads to your thread in the Practicals Forum.
The work you complete in this practical may also be applied to Assessment 2.
Please include the title "Practical 11: Draft Ads" in your post.

Learning together: We learn better with a little encouragement and discussion. Check out the answers of other students and leave a comment on their posts too.
