Welcome to AE4
This is the 4th level of the Academic English (AE) course and is the highest level that regularly runs. To enter this level, students must have:

successfully completed AE3; or
-
obtained a score on an accepted English language test or placement test deemed equivalent to an overall band score of 5.5 in IELTS.
Students who successfully complete this level will be deemed by UTS and other education providers with which UTS College has a direct entry requirement to have met the English language requirements for AE5 or UTS College Diploma courses which usually require an overall IELTS band score of 6.0 (with a minimum of 6.0 in writing).
AE course purpose
To prepare students primarily for the English language demands, but also for the academic skills demands, of degree, higher education diploma and foundation studies courses at UTS and other higher education institutions.
AE4 level description
Students in this level, on successful completion, should be at least minimally able to actively participate in learning and assessment activities in Diploma courses in higher education.
