Morena Realty moved to Amazon’s AWS cloud services last year. Their website and database is now cloud-based. The database stores documents, clients, and property histories. The website also accepts inquiries and enables bookings.

The company’s accountant would like to compare the cost of their previous on-premises infrastructure using historical data, to what they pay now for Amazon Web Services.

• Use AWS pricing and services to describe and itemise the monthly costs of AWS.
• Work out which services in the cloud could be accounting for most of these costs and explain the purpose they provide to the business.
• Describe how the Alert system works for Amazon budgeting purposes and suggest to the accountant why and how you would set that up.

Hauora Health, a wellness clinic has asked you to help set up a virtual private cloud (VPC) using Amazon’s VPC.

Include:

• An elastic IP address
• An Availability Zone (AZ) - consider the privacy issues regarding its location
• A private and public subnet on the AZ. The organization wants resources in their Private Subnets to connect to the Internet, while still keeping the resources in the subnet private
• Indicate the subnet IPv4 CIDR blocks for each of the subnets
