In this module, we’ll look at how you can promote yourself as a freelancer on three of the top freelance marketplaces. We’ll also check out how you can find freelancers to work for you.

Freelance marketplaces are where freelancers can connect with people who have a project that they need help with. The platforms typically make money by taking a cut from both the employer and the freelancer. In exchange for the cut they take, these platforms provide a hassle-free and convenient business experience to both parties.

  • Head to Fivver, Upwork & Unicorn Factory and set up your profiles as a customer (someone who has a project they need help with).
  • The key to finding the right people for the job is how you write your brief. Think about a project that you would like to list. This could be designing a logo, writing up a video script, website copywriting etc. Read this thread on how to write a great brief that will help you find the right freelancer for your project.
  • Then practice posting a job or finding an expert to work on a project. You can either do this for real if you have a project that you need some help on, or just create your brief and take a screenshot.
  • Post screenshots to your thread in the Module 7 Practicals Forum.
  • Set yourself up as a freelancer on Fivver, Upwork & Unicorn Factory, and have a go at selling yourself. Read this article on tips to set up a great Freelancer profile.
  • Again, you can either do this for real, or just create your profile and take a screenshot.
  • Post screenshots to your thread in the Module 7 Practicals Forum.
