Direct Messaging Tools and Platforms

Being able to send quick messages to your team, and your customers too, is a great way to keep everyone engaged and on the same page.

We’ll talk you through Slack - for connecting with your team, WhatsApp - for general messaging, and Kiwi platform Ezitxt - for texting your customers.

Sub Topics

  1. Create a free Slack account 
  2. Watch or read two case studies of how other companies are using Slack here.  
  3. In your Slack, create two channels for projects, invite members into those channels, and practice thread messaging inside those channels. 
  4. Practice integrating one other tool into Slack. This could be Google Drive or another tool you've set up. There are thousands to choose from here.
  5. Post a link to your Slack channel in your thread in the Module 5 Practicals Forum.

Create a account with Ezitext and start a free trial by verifying account via Email

  • Verify via email, and follow the setup instructions
  • Go to the home dashboard > Select Contacts > Go to Groups and create a new group
  • After you have set up a Group use the go to  the Import button and import  a contact CSV file from your customer database
  • Next go to Messages on the Dashboard and select Set Up Message Templates and create reminder of notification to be sent out via Text message
  • Go to new message > select Group you have created > select message template you have created > send a test message > select a scheduled time for this text message to go out and select > Book Message to view your scheduled Text message
  • Post screenshots of your Exitext messages in your thread in the Module 5 Practicals Forum.

  1. Download Whatsapp messenger from the android or apple store
  2. Set your status and add a photo using the bottom left status button
  3. Have a look at your contacts list, and go to new group call, select three friends from you contact list and start a conference call
  4. Play around with the photo functionality. Take a photo and apply some edits.
  5. Record a short video.
  6. Send your photo and video to a friend or someone on your whatsapp account.
  7. Post screenshots of your WhatsApp messages in your thread in the Module 5 Practicals Forum.
