Your Tutor
Mishca Hill
In 2006 Mishca started his career as a freelance artist and graphic designer working with illustration, paint, photography, sculpture, video and the Adobe Creative Suite. As an artist, he has completed a Master in Visual Arts, staged experimental performances, and curated solo and group exhibitions with artists, musicians, animators and game designers.
Mishca is an experienced designer working with a wide variety of clients; musicians, finance groups, gyms and self-publishers. From 2012 he worked as an online tutor teaching concept art for Uppsala University - Campus Gotland in Sweden, before joining Yoobee College's online team in New Zealand 2017.
The Graphic Design Training Package has three modules:
- Digital Images – including an introduction to graphic design and Adobe Photoshop
- Vector Graphics – including an Introduction to Adobe Illustrator and how it can be used with Photoshop
- Document Design – with an introduction to using Adobe InDesign and bringing everything you’ve learned in previous modules together to produce some print-ready documents
Practical activities
Each module includes practical activities, where you can apply what you have learned in a short exercise.
You’ll post your completed activities to the ‘Practicals’ forum for each module – this is where your tutor can provide feedback and answer your questions.
Assessments
The course includes three Projects, that bring everything you have learned together into a real-world scenario. These projects can be useful additions to your portfolio:
- Project 1: Poster Design
- Project 2: Logo Design
- Project 3: Magazine Cover and DPS
You’ll upload each project to its assessment page, where your tutor can view it and provide feedback and a grade.
Completing the course
To complete the course, you’ll need to achieve a ‘complete’ grade for all three assessments. Your tutor will provide detailed feedback and support to help you complete each project.
