The origins of social media can date back to the early days of the internet, specifically when it was born in 1970, but the first recognized social media platform was named Six Degrees, which launched later in 1997. It was a platform that allowed users to upload profile and make a connection with other users, really like what we have right now.

However, it wasn't until the early 2000s that social media started to take off. Friendster in Asia was launched, and Myspace followed in 2003, becoming the most popular networking site in the United States until it was overtaken by the giant Facebook (Meta).

A search engine is a software, program or website that helps users find information on the internet. It works by crawling thought web pages, indexing the content, and then ranking the results based on relevance to the users search query.

When a user types a query into a search engine, such as "best Italian restaurant near me" the search engine uses algorithms to scan the index of webpages to find the most relevant results. The search engine then displays a list of results, typically with a brief description of each website and a link to visit the page.

You all know the biggest search engine there is out there: Google.
